Graduate recruitment process
Stage 1: Application
Providing you meet our minimum requirements, we invite you to complete our online application form. Please note that places on our 2010 scheme are limited, so we encourage you to complete your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Recruitment experts will review all completed applications they receive, and select the best applications to progress to the psychometric testing stage.
Stage 2: Online psychometric tests
This stage invites you to complete two online tests - numerical awareness and verbal reasoning. A website link and login will be emailed to you. By clicking on the website link and pasting in your login details, you will be directed to SHL’s secure testing site.
If you are new to online testing, we encourage you to prepare for these tests by considering the following tips:
- Prepare yourself – the tests are timed and once you start the test, the clock starts ticking! Make sure you are in a quiet room free of distraction and have everything you need at hand.
- Practice – the start of each test gives you the chance to try some practice questions before the real test begins. The practice questions will help you to familiarise yourself with the test format and the types of questions you can expect to answer.
- During the test – work through each test as quickly and accurately as possible. Do not spend too much time on any one question. Please note that it is not unusual to not finish the test.

Stage 3: Telephone interview
If you are successful through the psychometric testing stage, then you will be contacted to arrange a time to complete a telephone interview. The purpose of the interview, which will last for about 30 minutes, is to provide you with information about Groupama, the graduate roles and to answer your questions.
You will be also asked questions that assess you against specific competencies. The competency questions will require you to think about your past achievements, and to describe these in detail to your interviewer.
Stage 4: Assessment centre
Those who stand out in the telephone interviews will be invited to meet the Groupama team in an assessment centre. The event runs for one day, and we will be asking you to complete a number of challenging exercises and tasks - sometimes individually and other times in a group.
The day is also an opportunity for you to ask us lots of questions to help you feel confident that Groupama is the right career move for you. Our assessor team is made up of insurance managers and talent experts, so we will always have an answer for you.
Because we believe in investing in your progress from the start, after the assessment centre stage we offer all participants developmental feedback. This is regardless of whether you progress to an interview with a manager or not.
Stage 5: Interview with a manager
Candidates who are successful at the assessment centre will be invited back for an in-depth interview with managers from across our business. This constitutes the final stage of the recruitment process. From here, offers will be made for a start date in September 2010.
